Rachel Suery

I am a teacher, trained educational psychologist, counsellor, and ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC) from New Zealand. Since 2008, I have been living and working in Zurich, Switzerland. Over the past 30 years, I have worked in international schools as an educator, coach, counsellor, educational psychologist, learning support teacher, and school leader across New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Vietnam, Germany, and Switzerland.
In 2020, I established my private counselling and coaching and practice to support young people, families, and schools. My approach combines counselling and coaching, drawing on my background as a trained educational psychologist to provide practical, personalised support tailored to each young person's individual needs.
Having worked in international schools around the world for more than 30 years, and having lived internationally myself, I understand both professionally and personally the opportunities and challenges that come with international family life. I recognise the unique experiences many young people face, including changing schools, transitioning between countries, adjusting to new cultures, developing a sense of identity, navigating friendships, and managing academic pressures. This perspective enables me to provide practical, personalised support that reflects the realities of internationally mobile families.
My experience also includes supporting neurodivergent young people, including those with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other learning differences. I believe every young person has unique strengths and the capacity to thrive when they feel understood, supported, and empowered with the right tools. My role is to walk alongside them, helping them build confidence, resilience, and the skills they need to flourish.
